| Linux.1U.net has several front panels that supports LCD displays

- we use a backlit 2x16 text LCD display
- the LCD has an RS232 adapter connected to the motherboard with 3 internal wires
- the LCD requires +5v, gnd and its serial data ( TX-pin on com2 )
- the other serial interface signals ( CTS, DTR, etc ) are unused in our 1U chassis
- the LCD displays data sent to it by
our demo perl script
- the LCD, cabling, changes would add abut $100 to the costs of your 1U chassis
- You can display any data needed by writing your own program
- Future Proposed Changes:
- Add 5 switches: up, down, left, right, "enter"
- Possibly Add phone-pad style keyboard interface to LCD
